John Asadoorian
Principal Broker
John Asadoorian is a native Washingtonian. In 1986, having witnessed the loss of retail in the Nation’s Capital, John developed a personal drive to see it return to the city’s core. In the years that followed, his entrepreneurial style suited him well, overseeing retail leasing for The Oliver Carr Company, Washington’s premier developer and then overseeing the offering of retail brokerage services at Grubb & Ellis. Today, he employs the unique skills learned from the property owner’s perspective with those particular to the tenant’s requirements.
His experience is broad as he assists start-up retail and restaurant operations, as well as advising nationally known, multi-unit concepts. He is also adept at representing the interests of property owners and their unique demands. The breadth and depth of John’s knowledge of the regional retail market comprise the Greater Washington and Baltimore markets. On a national level, his focus includes major urban centers.
As an authority on the regional real estate market, John has been recognized as an expert by various zoning commissions and planning councils. He has spoken at various trade conferences and is quoted regularly in newspapers and publications. John graduated from Syracuse University in 1984 and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He enjoys regular travel to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and is an active skier, rower, and cyclist.
